RME Environmental provides regulatory solutions to clients seeking to comply with major federal regulations including but not limited to:
RME implements sustainable in-situ remediation technologies. It is RME's experience that some of the most sustainable remediation technologies include in-situ chemical oxidation and reduction because these technologies have been proven to be more effective with a lower carbon footprint as compared to excavation and offsite disposal or soil vapor extraction.
RME will design a chemical oxidation or reduction technology based on the characteristics of a specific site. For example, at a petroleum distribution facility site RME designed the implementation of a chemical oxidation system that achieve a 99% destruction of benzene. The project utilized a biodegradable plant-based surfactant to place free-phase petroleum contamination into solution where it could be destroyed by the chemical oxidant.
Traditional in-situ chemical oxidation technologies have often failed because such technologies cannot address free-phase contamination that is trapped within the pore space of the geologic formation. However, the use of VeruTEK's sustainable plant-based surfactants overcomes this traditional limitation of in-situ chemical oxidation and has been proven to be effective in the destruction of petroleum and other organics.
